Loreto Leader – October 2013

Hi All,

Hope you are all enjoying getting stuck into the hockey season. It’s fantastic that we can can now really appreciate our new Clubhouse, particularly coming into the colder months! On that note I am absolutely delighted to announce that we are officially unveiling our “Loreto – More than a Name” board which will be showcased in the Clubhouse on Saturday 9th November.

A huge amount of work has gone on behind the scenes and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our current and past members, associates and parents for supporting our campaign and making it such a huge success. Thanks also to our committee, particularly Bronwyn O’Donnell who was the brainchild behind the idea, Dee Naughton and Wendy Byrne.

I would encourage all members to put the date in your diary!! It promises to be a great day; we will be hosting a fun filled day for all members and their families, past members and Junior section members. We will have a jumping castle and light refreshments. Loreto will be buzzing with three home games!

We will also be officially unveiling our new Sponsor Owen Chubb of Victorian Garden Buildings and are delighted that Owen will be saying a few words which also gives our members the opportunity to meet him.

On the hockey front it’s great to see all the teams doing so well from first to sixths. Thanks to Hilly and Adriana for organising what, by all accounts, was a great night on the mystery pub tour.

Finally well done to Sarah Scott, coach of the under 16’s, and Wendy Byrne (Manager) for winning the under 16’s and to Under 18 players Bryony Biggam and Lauren O’Leary at the Interprovincial tournament in Cork last weekend. Fantastic achievement.

Hope you all have a lovely Halloween.

Best wishes,

Sue Elliott
President
