Loreto Official Pitch Opening 8th March 2020

A huge thank you to everyone for coming out on Sunday afternoon to the official opening of our new pitch!

The day started off with an exhibition match between Leinster Senior Schools Cup winners, Loreto High School Beaufort, and some of our very own Loreto ladies. A huge thanks to all the girls for a great game, even in the very worst conditions!

Then onto the main event. With speeches from club captain, Niamh Kealy, and principal of Loreto High School Beaufort, Aoife Kavanagh, our very own Irish superstar Hannah Matthews officially opened the new water based pitch! Check out some of the pictures below.

Our 1sts then kicked off a top of the table clash in the EYHL against Old Alex. We had some very special junior mascots for both teams on the day, including some of our Loreto Lions. Loreto took an early lead with a fantastic goal from Hannah Matthews during a penalty corner. Old Alex managed a late equaliser from another penalty corner with minutes to go. But our ladies in white and maroon responded in true Loreto style with a goal  in the last minute from Ali Meeke from a Sarah Torrans deflection. An important 3 points for the home side and a great finish to the big day!
