News, Newsletter → Loreto Leader September 2016
Hi all,
Let me start by welcoming everyone back to the new season, both returning members and new members. It’s been great to see so many of you at training each week; I know you’ve been put through your paces so our teams should be ready to hit the ground running when the league commences in the next couple of weeks.
It’s set to be a really exciting season as our 1sts join the EYHL and our 2nds-6ths take part in Leinster League and Cup competitions, and not forgetting our fantastic Vets team.. We’ll keep you up to date on upcoming fixtures so do come along to support the teams in their games when you can!
Best of luck to all our coaches and management over the coming season. It’s great to have such calibre of coaches right throughout the Club including Paul Fitz, Ian Clarke, Ali Meeke, and Andy Keane, not to mention our Junior section coaching staff.
Many thanks to our Fillies Coordinator Bronnie along with her team who are working extremely hard behind the scenes to get everything up and running for our Junior members this season.
Our club captain Sarah English, assisted by Caroline Moran, has also been busy getting the season off to a great start in the senior club. Social secretary, Kate Kirwan, has lots of social events planned for the season, starting off with our colours tournament and BBQ on Wednesday September 28th and our highly anticipated opening night.
Look forward to seeing you all at those socials. And thanks to our exec committee and all volunteers for their hard work in the running of the club.
Well done to Bronnie and her committee who organised a really successful charity cycle for former Beaufort student Caroline Smyth last weekend. A great day was had by all, cyclists, volunteers and supporters alike.
The latest tally of funds raised is €8,000 with donations still coming in.
You may have noticed that our clubhouse was spruced up over the summer with a fresh painting job, in time to welcome everyone back to pre-season. Thanks to our painters who did a fantastic job.
All that’s left to say is best of luck to all teams this season!
