Happy New Year everyone!
I think you will all agree that our new clubhouse is just fantastic. Who would have ever thought this time last year that we would have our very own top of the range Clubhouse what a long way Loreto Hockey Club has come from the tin can in Nutgrove!! It really came home to me last Sunday when I ventured up in the freezing cold and wind to watch the thirds win their cup quarter final and had the pleasure of watching it from the warm Clubhouse with a lovely cup of coffee!!
I am really looking forward to the official Club opening on the 10th March at 1pm (in the new Clubhouse). It promises to be a day of great celebration. We are extremely lucky to have Luke Fitzgerald facilitating the opening along with Mary Kennedy and we plan making it a day to remember. Please spread the word to all our Junior, Senior members families and associates who are more than welcome to join in the big day. More details to follow soon.
It is great to see all the teams throughout the Club doing so well post-Christmas particularly the firsts who had two fantastic wins back to back and to the thirds who are now in the semi-final of the Cup so well done to all. It is also fantastic to see the Junior Section still thriving particularly with the weather being so cold.
Finally well done to Bronnie and her team of fundraisers in launching Loreto Hockey Club- MORE THAN A NAME campaign details which are set out in the newsletter. I hope that we will all get behind the fundraiser and give the team all the support we can. I am really looking forward to catching up with everyone on the opening day. In the meantime happy hockey!
