Loreto Christmas party 2011 report!

Oh what a night! One of the best Club Christmas parties ever!!! The Loreto gals were out in full costumes for the 2011 ‘Christmas dress up’ party.

With a decorative festival cocktail on arrival, the night kicked off brilliantly, and it just got better and better. Clearly a big effort was made by everybody to dress up ‘festively’. We had everything from snowman jumpers to snowman hair clips, naff Christmas Jumpers, full reindeer costumes, walking Christmas trees, an elf, and lots more. Nikki Keegan (Captain Fantastic of the firsts XI) set a great example as she arrived fully wrapped up! What a nice Christmas present she made!

However the winner of the “best dressed” was never in doubt, when in walked Jesus ( Babyborn in a Loreto shirt), Mary (Stef Doran) and Joseph (Club Captain Orla Smith). This “Moving Crib” even brought the donkey!!! – the whole bar was in tears of laughter. 11 out of 10 for effort girls!!

We were all thrilled with the ‘Special Message’ from Pres Bronnie, (wearing the naffest Christmas jumper ever!!!) about the clubs exciting plans to build a new two-story clubhouse complete with viewing balcony in the summer of 2012 (subject to Planning Permission).

The night got even better, with a surprise visit from a VERY special guest bearing gifts galore – Social Sec Gemma, stole the limelight when she arrived as Santa..! and there was one for everyone in the audience after pass the parcel was finished…Phew!

Elvis got us all up rockin’ and movin’ – we never saw Peter and Ann Keegan move so much on the Dance floor !! Towards the end of the evening we had the National ‘Limbo-Dancing’ Championships, which Inez won by a mile (even Elvis tried limbo-dancing!!). Finally to end the night, Nuala gave us a re-enactment of the infamous ‘Bridal bar-dive’!!!!

Needless to say, this was another super night /early morning for all at the Club Christmas Party. Many thanks to Gemma and her wonderful Social Committee for yet another great ‘Loreto night-out’.
