Golf Outing 2013

Congratulations to Laura Fitz who claimed the Lillis Cup last Saturday.

A fantastic day of sunshine greeted the 22 starters for the 15th hockey club golf outing – loads of sun cream applications going on before starting out! A number of first timers, young ‘uns and bandits took to the first tee-box, including our new club captain, Edel Maxwell, Eimear O’Hanrahan, Sarah Maher and the Liuzzi sisters!!

We had an illustrious starting fourball of Nicky King (4), twin sister Jen (6), Gillian Dawson (8) and Mary Barnwell (15) lead us off – the rest of us let them at it!

Our President Sue had a family outing with husband John (wrapped up in a sweater for the day!) and brother John – beats the beach!

Anyway, after all the sunshine, Laura Fitzgerald came out the worthy winner, playing off 25 with a score of 34 pts, she won the Lillis Cup for the 3rd time!! She says she loves Naas Golf Club and who could argue.

Runner up was Sarah ‘bandit’ Maher on 33 pts, playing off 36 and 3rd place was Nuala Phillips with 32 pts playing off 26.

Inez presented the cup to Laura on behalf of sister Elma and everybody went home happy with little prizes and golfer tan lines!!
