Coach Profiles:
Manager – Sam Keogh
Sam has been a member of Loreto Hockey Club for a number of years. She has been a strong player in defence in any team that she was put with (with a few scars to show for it!).
Coming from winning with the 6ths last season, Sam thought she would try and keep that winning streak going with the 7ths.
So turning her hand to managing, she is like the mother hen of the group – bringing oranges for half time and even cake on peoples birthdays!!
Coach – Emmet Lawlor McHugh
This is Emmet’s first season in coaching. He’s played hockey and captained Sandford Park, where he played with Ben for 5 years.
He’s now back there coaching at all age groups with ex Pakistan international, hockey expert Nasir Munir. Nasir coached him for 4 years with Sandford Park and Portrane Hockey Club who
Emmet played with since 2009. He has now left to concentrate on his coaching. Emmet hopes to get his Level 1 coaching badge during the summer.
He’s very happy with the progress of the team and can’t wait to build on it next year
